Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field, or equivalent. • At least 5 years DBA experience with performance engineering. • Proficiency with AWS DB services such as RDS and Aurora. • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and index management is required. • Knowledge of backup/restore methodologies, replication, and DR processes are necessary. • SQL skills in MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation of applications relying on the databases managed within Agiloft's cloud environment. • Implement best practices for security measures in managing sensitive data across multiple platforms including local servers as well as various clouds, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS or HIPAA where applicable. • Monitor and maintain database health by regularly checking system logs to identify potential issues before they escalate into critical problems that could impact business operations. • Collaborate closely with the development team to understand application requirements, ensuring databases are designed in a way that supports scalability and performance goals for Agiloft's products. • Perform routine backups of all database systems within their purview as well as restoring them when necessary to ensure business continuity without data loss or significant downtime during the process. • Stay informed about emerging technologies in cloud computing, databases management and performance optimization that could benefit Agiloft's operations; regularly attending webinars, workshops, conferences, etc., as part of their professional development to bring new insights back into the team. • Provide training sessions for junior database administrators within Agiloft on best practices in managing databases and optimizing performance across various cloud platforms used by the company.
