Requirements
• We are seeking a Data Architect to assess and modernize an existing data platform built on Azure SQL and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will operate at an architect level, defining best practices, designing the future-state data architecture, and guiding the implementation of an enterprise-grade Microsoft Fabric landing zone. This role will work closely with the Data & AI team to document the current data warehouse, design a canonical data model, and enable real-time data capabilities within Microsoft Fabric. • Data Architect • 📅Start date: ASAP🖋️Contract type: Contractor🕘Work hours: 8 am to 5 pm PST💻Work mode: 100% remote • Must-haves • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms. • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure data ecosystem. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric. • Experience with Azure SQL Data Warehouse / Synapse / modern data warehousing architectures. • Strong knowledge of data modeling and canonical data models. • Experience working with real-time analytics and streaming architectures. • Nice-to-haves • Experience integrating Salesforce data sources. • Familiarity with Kaptio RMS data structures. • Experience implementing enterprise landing zones on Azure. • Strong knowledge of KQL (Kusto Query Language). • Familiarity with Microsoft Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). • Experience collaborating with Data & AI teams in enterprise environments. • What to Expect from Our Hiring Process • Intro Chat – 60 min with our Talent team • Cultural Fit Interview – 30 min with our Team Engagement Manaher • Final Interview – 60 min Technical Interview with Hiring Manager
Responsibilities
• Analyze and document the existing Azure SQL–hosted data warehouse, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure. • Identify and map all RMS (Salesforce / Kaptio) tables, fields, and data elements currently consumed by reporting and analytics. • Produce comprehensive documentation of current data flows, dependencies, and data consumption patterns. • Evaluate the current architecture and identify technical gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. • Collaborate with the Data & AI team to design a future-state Enterprise Data Architecture. • Develop a canonical data model aligned with modern data platform principles. • Design an Entity Relationship (ER) model to standardize and structure enterprise data assets. • Ensure the architecture aligns with Microsoft Fabric data platform standards and best practices. • Design and deploy an Enterprise-Scale Microsoft Fabric Landing Zone. • Implement the landing zone following Microsoft Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) guidelines. • KQL (Kusto Query Language) • Kusto Update Policies • Provide hands-on guidance to internal teams during the platform setup. • Document architecture decisions and implementation standards. • Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to enable the internal team to independently operate and maintain Fabric real-time capabilities.
