Polygon Labs - Senior Engineer

• As a Senior Engineer on the PoS Engineering team at Polygon Labs, you’ll focus on strengthening the peer-to-peer networking capabilities across all three of our core clients—Bor, Erigon, and Heimdall. This role is ideal for someone passionate about distributed systems and low-level networking, who wants to solve complex stability and connectivity challenges at scale. • Working closely with a high-caliber team of engineers across time zones, you will play a key role in ensuring the network reliability and performance of the Polygon PoS chain. You’ll take ownership of diagnosing and resolving hard-to-find issues in our peer-to-peer layer and will help us evolve our network topology to meet the next phase of growth. • Design, implement, and optimize peer-to-peer networking components in the Bor, Erigon, and Heimdall clients. • Analyze and improve network stability by identifying peering bottlenecks, protocol edge cases, or propagation inefficiencies. • Investigate incidents and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) efforts related to network partitions, peer discovery failures, or gossip performance issues. • Collaborate closely with internal protocol and infra teams to align client behavior with network goals. • Contribute to client documentation and architecture discussions around networking layers and system resilience. • Stay up to date with trends and developments in distributed systems and peer-to-peer infrastructure.
