Requirements
• ScienceLogic is seeking a Senior Engineer focused on Developer Experience and Delivery Performance. This role focuses on improving how engineering work flows from development through testing and deployment, reducing friction in developer workflows and increasing confidence in our delivery pipeline. You will work across engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, improve feedback loops, and evolve our CI/CD and testing infrastructure to enable faster, safer software delivery.
Responsibilities
• In this role, you will be developing tools and infrastructure for our development platform, including container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, test automation workflows, and other analysis and engineering tools. • Develop, improve, and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, with a specific focus on improving the reliability, performance, and scalability of our automated testing pipeline • Identify bottlenecks in the development and delivery workflow and drive improvements that reduce cycle time, improve test reliability, and increase developer confidence in the delivery pipeline • Analyze delivery metrics and developer workflows to identify systemic bottlenecks and prioritize improvements that increase engineering throughput and delivery reliability • Coordinate with developer teams to understand requirements and workflows • Enforce and encourage adoption of best practices when it comes to container development, CI/CD pipelines, and general software engineering • Provide guidance and best practices across engineering teams around CI/CD usage, trunk-based development, feature flags, and maintaining a continuously releasable main branch • Work with experienced and collaborative teams, contributing to team discussions around technology choice, implementation, and architecture • Work closely with Engineering leadership, QA leads, and DevOps teams to accomplish goals and coordinate roadmaps • Qualities you possess... • You are a driven and curious engineer who loves to learn about the newest technologies and evaluate efficiencies in existing pipelines. You look at things with an objective and scientific lens to experiment and quantify value, rather than leaning on feelings or claims. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related fields with 8+ years of relevant experience (3+ years at a leadership level) • Systems-oriented mindset with an interest in improving how engineering organizations deliver software rather than focusing solely on building product feature • Ability to operate independently while influencing engineering teams and driving improvements that benefit the broader development organization. • Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms and developing pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration in production environments, particularly deployed as infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred) • Strong understanding of developer productivity and delivery performance metrics (cycle time, build time, test reliability, and deployment frequency) • Experience working in public cloud platforms (AWS preferred) • Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages (Python or Go preferred) • Experience collaborating with a team of varied specialties and external collaborators • Experience documenting best practices, architecture, and policies for consumption of both technical and non-technical roles • Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.) particularly for improving test diagnostics and delivery pipeline visibility • Understanding of DevOps principles, including secure build pipelines and compliance automation
Benefits
• Comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans. • 401(k) plan with employer match. • Flexible Paid Time Off (FTO) so that you can take the time that you need to re-energize. • Volunteer Time Off (VTO) - take two days off per calendar year to volunteer with your preferred charitable organization. • 5-year Service Milestone Sabbatical. • Paid parental leave. • Generous employee referral bonus program. • HQ Office centrally located in Reston Town Center featuring a well-stocked kitchen with rotating snacks and beverages, and catered lunch on Thursdays. • Regular virtual company-wide events, including cooking classes, yoga, meditation and more. • The opportunity to learn and develop from some of the best and brightest minds in the industry! • Don’t meet every single requirement?
