Requirements
- Solid programming experience in Java, Python, Go, or similar languages for building large-scale distributed systems - at least 10 years.
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep understanding of effective and efficient SDLC workflows with hands-on developer infrastructure development experience.
- Experience driving vision, roadmap, adoption of Developer Portal products such as Backstage - implied but not explicitly stated requirement.
- Familiarity with build systems like Gradle, Maven or Make; continuous integration/deployment tools including CodeBuild, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions (implied).
- Understanding and experience in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (implied but not explicitly stated requirement).
Responsibilities
- You will drive both the tactical and strategic roadmap for Marqeta Engineering, using data and customer feedback to increase efficiency, improve effectiveness, and meaningfully reduce operational toil across the organization.
- Establish and foster a data-driven engineering culture. Develop superior tooling and metrics to understand the health of our entire SDLC systems.
- Engage with key stakeholders across engineering and leverage data to establish objective measurement of Inner and Outer Loop Latency.
- Conduct DevEx surveys across the engineering organization in Marqeta, collect and analyze feedback and define areas of execution to achieve world-class developer experience for all Marqeta engineering teams.
- Ship services and tools that delight our customers! Work with your direct and adjacent teams to deliver a delightful developer experience.
