Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in cellular firmware and user space design.
Proficiency in C, C++, and Python is required.
Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Excellent teamwork skills with a proven ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team and ensure timely project success.
Knowledge of wireless standards, specifically 3GPP.
Knowledge and experience with commercial connectivity devices, including mobile and IoT devices.
Experience with wireless products and their general software stack.
Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar database software.

Complete an initial design of rate adaptation for cellular operation and explore real life performance.
Responsibilities
Designing and implementing software solutions for cellular modems within the context of 5G connectivity.
Collaborating with team members to develop wireless communication protocols tailored to Flock Safety's products and services in aviation safety technology.
Troubleshooting, testing, and optimizing existing codebases or writing new software components as required for the enhancement of product functionality related to 5G integration within our devices.
Participating actively in team meetings and stand-ups to discuss project progress, challenges encountered with wireless technologies, and potential solutions that align with Flock Safety's strategic goals.
Staying informed about the latest advancements in 5G technology and its implications for aviation safety equipment by attending relevant webinars, workshops, or conferences to ensure continuous improvement of our products.
Providing technical support as needed during product development cycles when issues arise that require immediate attention from a senior software engineer with expertise in wireless technologies.
Contributing ideas and feedback on the design and implementation process based on personal experience working with cellular modems, particularly for 5G connectivity solutions within an aviation safety context.
