Requirements

Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers. • 6+ years of software development experience building products with demonstrated growth in technical scope and autonomy • Experience in optimizing platform engineering and/or infrastructure • Knowledge of 2 or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails / TypeScript / Kotlin • Experience using LLMs to drive broad changes across codebases (Claude) • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex issues across multiple systems and keen interest in getting to the root cause • Experience designing and maintaining production systems with high availability requirements • Strong communication and collaboration skills. You can explain complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively with stakeholders across different backgrounds
Responsibilities
• Partner directly with product engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, building solutions that prevent recurrence. • Take end-to-end ownership of system components, designing with reliability and maintainability as primary concerns. • Contribute to platform tools and frameworks that help all engineers ship reliably. • Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Data partners to align technical decisions with client needs. • Help establish technical standards and best practices for development at Wealthsimple.
