Frequently Asked Questions
Why Wagey?
+
Speed, efficiency, competency. Other job tools help a bit — but only Wagey finds, filters and submits applications for you.
What takes an hour of copy-pasting across forms takes just seconds: one-click per application, or bulk turbo-apply to 10+ jobs at once. Easily review every field before anything goes out.
The entire flow — find, match, apply — is two or three clicks and done. No other tool matches this velocity.
Plus, this entire flow is free!
No credit card, no paywall on core features. Just raw efficiency: spend less time filling forms, more time living.
Who is it for?
+
If you'd rather spend your time living rather than filling out the same form for the hundredth time... you should check out Wagey.
Whether you're a software engineer, designer, DevOps engineer, data scientist — any kind of tech professional, at any level from junior developers to CTOs — if you're looking for remote work worldwide... Wagey was built for you.
Wagey exists to give you back your life, your time, your freedom.
How does the matching work?
+
You upload your resume: Wagey reads your skills, roles, and experience, then scores every job in the database against your profile — right in your browser, in real time.
Drag the sliders to tune what matters: role fit vs. skill fit, focused vs. broad.
The matched list updates instantly. You control the filtering & ranking — you see why each job ranked where it did.
How does One-Click Apply work?
+
Just click "Apply" on any matched job; you'll be prompted to install the free Chrome extension.
Wagey opens the company's real application form and the extension fills every field — name, email, phone, resume upload, work history — using data from your profile.
You review every field before submitting.
Nothing goes out without your approval.
Is my data safe?
+
Your resume is stored on our servers and is only shared with the companies that you apply to.
All job matching runs locally in your browser — your data never leaves your machine for that step.
We don't sell your information, period.
Which ATS platforms does Wagey support?
+
Wagey currently supports Lever, Greenhouse, and Ashby — the three biggest applicant tracking systems in tech hiring. Together they cover roughly 90% of the tech job market. That means most of the remote tech jobs you'll find on Wagey can be applied to with one click.
We're always evaluating new platforms to add. If a company uses a different ATS, chances are we'll add it soon.
Will companies know I used an auto-apply tool?
+
No. The extension fills out the company's real application form in your real Chrome browser, exactly the way you would by hand. There's no special API, no backdoor, no shortcut. The employer sees a normal application — because it is one. The only difference is you didn't spend 15 minutes typing it.
Can I edit the answers before they submit?
+
Always. Every field is pre-filled based on your resume and profile, but you can change anything before it goes out. Wrong phone number? Edit it. Want to tweak a response? Go ahead. The review step is mandatory — nothing submits until you explicitly approve it. This isn't a fire-and-forget tool. You stay in control.
Does Wagey work outside the US?
+
Yes — Wagey is built first and foremost for remote work worldwide. The database includes 24,000+ jobs across every region: APAC, EMEA, North America, Latin America, and Worldwide-remote. Use the region filter to narrow down to roles that hire in your location, or go broad and see everything.
Jobs are also published daily on GitHub, split by region, so you can browse them however you like.
What does "turbo-apply" mean?
+
Turbo-apply is bulk mode: instead of applying to jobs one at a time, you queue up multiple jobs, review all the pre-filled answers across every application, and then fire them all off in one batch. What used to take an entire afternoon of copy-pasting takes minutes.
You still review every single field — turbo-apply gives you speed without cutting corners.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
+
Core search, matching, and browsing are free forever. No credit card. No trial period. No "free for 7 days then we charge you." The full job database, the matching engine, and one-click apply all work on the free tier.
Free gets you 5 auto-applies per week and 1 resume profile — enough to test the waters and land interviews. Pro ($29/mo) bumps that to 20 applies per day with fresher jobs and Job Insights. Elite ($49/mo) is unlimited applies, real-time job access, and unlimited Job Insights. But the core experience — searching, matching, and applying — works without paying a cent.
How often are jobs updated?
+
Every day. Jobs are scraped from thousands of company career pages, verified, deduplicated, and added to the database daily. Stale listings — jobs that have been taken down or filled — are automatically detected and removed so you're not wasting time applying to dead links.
The job count on the homepage is live. What you see is what's actually out there right now.
What's the story behind Wagey?
+
I built Wagey because applying to jobs felt like eating broken glass. Every application is the same — your name, email, resume, LinkedIn — over and over. I've been on both sides of hiring, and I know the pain points. I know that the tech could exist to help both sides: companies to find the people they need, and people to find the companies that deserve them. So I built it.
I'm a solo dev: no funding, no team. I built the scraper, the matching engine, and the auto-apply extension myself. The product does one thing and hopefully does it well: get your application submitted without the form-filling grind.
Built using Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Playwright (for scraping), ONNX Runtime (for local embedding models), Chrome Extension APIs, and Caddy. Hosted on a Contabo VPS with PM2. All job matching runs locally using open-source embedding models — zero external API calls for core matching in the browser.
