Mistral AI - AI Scientist

• High proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or other) such as Rust, Go, Java. • Hands-on experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, JAX. • Experience working across use cases and modalities including reasoning, code, agents; text, image, speech. • Ability to research and develop novel methods for large language models (LLMs). • Skill in building tooling and infrastructure for training, evaluating AI models at scale. • Cross-functional experience working with other scientists, engineers, product teams on shipping real-world impactful systems. • Experience or hands-on knowledge of distributed system technologies like Ray, Kubernetes (preferred). • High engineering competence to design complex software for production use. • Self-starter attitude and team player skills are required. • Previous experience with training large transformer models in a distributed fashion is preferred but not mandatory. • Familiarity or ability to navigate the full MLOps stack, including fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment (preferred). • Strong publication record relevant to scientific domain of AI and machine learning (not required but highly beneficial).
