Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a mix of public accounting and retail or hospitality environment in UK/Europe. • Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred. • Strong understanding of both UK GAAP & IFRS accounting principles and financial reporting. • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system. • Experience with Coupa or similar billing and invoicing accounting software. • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables at a minimum). • Ability to identify and solve problems and clearly communicate solutions. • Ability to work independently own deliverable timelines and communicate workstream issues. • Approaches work with a team mindset and understands the importance of cross-functional communication

Responsibilities

• Own core accounting workflows including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting. • Prepare timely, accurate and complete financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Research, calculate, and document areas of significant judgement and estimates, particularly for emerging or complex accounting treatments. • Own intercompany journals and reconciliations between entities to ensure accuracy in consolidated reporting. • Collaborate on period-end close processes with Finance, Operations, People, and external parties as a go-to resource. • Perform the general ledger's day-to0day accounting operations including preparation of journal entries and accruals. • Reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly to maintain integrity in financial reporting. • Maintain supporting schedules for reconciliations, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. • Provide operational support by reviewing invoices, resolving vendor issues, overseeing payment processing timelines, and adherence to contractual terms and internal policies. • Build and improve accounting policies, controls, and processes with a focus on efficiency and compliance. • Develop documentation for key accounting policies and procedures including the establishment of robust internal controls. • Proactively evaluate existing systems and implement improvements where necessary to enhance process efficacy. • Partner closely with tax and audit teams in preparation of quarterly and annual filings across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. • Support the organization's external auditors by providing timely access to information required for their review processes during annual audits and quarterly reviews. • Perform ad-hoc analysis and research using various systems when requested or as needed to support decision-making within Blank Street’s accounting function.
