Requirements
• Hands-on experience developing software for real-world robotics • Mastery of Python and proven developer experience • High engineering competence to design complex software suitable for production use • Self-starter with an autonomous spirit who is proactive in getting things done • Team player capable of collaborating effectively with other engineers and researchers • Flexible, adaptable approach required • Experience building and deploying AI systems on real physical robots (NICE_TO_HAVE) • Hardware development experience including mechanical design, CAD, and 3D printing skills (NICE_TO0 HAVE) • Robotics simulator experience (NICE_TO_HAVE) • Experience maintaining large code bases with proficiency in coding for robotic control systems such as ROS (NICE_TO_HAVE) • Knowledge of sensor integration and actuator control, including understanding of control theory, machine learning or computer vision applied to robotics (NICE_TO_HAVE)
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement AI solutions for robotic systems to enhance efficiency and performance in manufacturing processes. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and product managers to define project requirements and ensure alignment of goals across departments. • Conduct research on emerging technologies relevant to the field of robotics within Mistral AI's scope of work. • Design prototypes for testing new concepts in automation or machine learning algorithms applied to robotic systems, with a focus on practical application and scalability. • Analyze data collected from robots during operation to identify patterns, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues that may arise within the manufacturing environment. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in robotics engineering by attending workshops, conferences, or engaging with professional networks as needed for project support.
