Requirements
• Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Economics, Econometrics, Marketing, or related quantitative field • 5+ years of experience in economic or business analysis, pricing strategy, or data science roles • Strong proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, Stata) and SQL a must • Experience with marketplace, platform or e-commerce business models preferred • Solid understanding of microeconomic principles, particularly pricing theory and market dynamics • Experience with experimental design and causal inference methods • Advanced knowledge of econometric modeling and statistical analysis • Experience with machine learning techniques for pricing and forecasting • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and statistical significance testing • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams • Strategic thinking with attention to detail • Fluency in English
Responsibilities
• Pricing Strategy & Analysis • Design and implement dynamic pricing models for marketplace services, premium features and free listing tiers • Conduct price elasticity analysis and develop optimal pricing strategies across different markets • Plan A/B testing initiatives for pricing experiments and analyze results to drive revenue optimization • Monitor competitive pricing landscape and provide strategic recommendations • Economic modelling & forecasting • Help building econometric and/or ML models to forecast marketplace trends, user behavior, and revenue impacts • Perform market analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential risks • Develop scenario planning models for strategic decision-making • Create economic frameworks to evaluate new product launches and market entries • Data-Driven Insights • Provide economic analysis on marketplace dynamics, supply-demand balance, and network effects • Develop KPI frameworks and dashboards for pricing and performance tracking • Translate complex economic analysis into actionable business recommendations for non-technical audiences • Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with Product, Finance, and Category teams to align pricing and monetization strategies • Present findings and recommendations independently to senior leadership • Support strategic planning processes with economic insights and modeling • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team capability building
