Requirements
• Exceptional ability in backend engineering with a strong focus on performance optimization and scalability. Evidence of exceptional achievements required to demonstrate this skill set. • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, preferably within the last three years for relevant projects or roles at similar companies/industries. Experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud preferred but not mandatory. • Bachelor’s degree (B.S., B.A.) or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is required; however, equivalent experience may be considered for candidates with non-traditional backgrounds that demonstrate strong technical skills and knowledge relevant to the role of Senior Backend Engineer at Edia. • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Expert are highly desirable but not mandatory; equivalent certifications may be considered based on experience, education, and demonstrated skills in cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc. • Proficiency with programming languages such as Java/Scala or Python for backend development is required along with knowledge of SQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB; familiarity with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB and Cassandra preferred but not mandatory. Experience in using cloud services (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) to build serverless applications appreciated. • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles is required along with experience working on microservices architecture or similar distributed systems; knowledge about containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes preferred but not mandatory. Experience in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI appreciated for streamlining development processes. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and scalability required; ability to identify bottl0ck points within systems is highly desirable but not mandatory. Experience in designing high availability solutions or disaster recovery strategies preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain scalable backend systems. • Design database schemas to optimize data storage and retrieval efficiency. • Implement security measures for sensitive information protection. • Optimize code performance through profiling tools and techniques. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers and DevOps engineers, on backend development projects. • Troubleshoot issues related to database connectivity or server infrastructure as needed. • Monitor system health using monitoring tools like Prometheus or New Relic. • Write unit tests for codebase ensuring reliability of the software components.
