Requirements
• Excellent sources and ability to create new ones • Strong reporting skills and comfort working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline • Ability to decipher data, break news and create conceptual scoops • Deep knowledge of the local market, including politics, business, and/or social issues • Background in understanding local and national news coverage more broadly • A belief in and dedication to writing in Smart Brevity • Starting salary for this role is in the range of $60,000 - $130,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country.
