Requirements
• 4+ years of backend engineering experience • Strong experience building and shipping production systems • Proficiency in backend development (language-agnostic mindset; Node.js, Python, Go, etc.) • Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and scalable architectures • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar) • Comfort working in an AI-assisted coding workflow (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) • Solid understanding of system design, performance, and reliability • Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team • Experience with real-time systems or event-driven architectures • Familiarity with media processing, automation, or bot systems • Experience with message queues, caching, and async workflows • Exposure to low-level performance optimization or systems programming
Responsibilities
• Build and scale backend services and APIs powering the core product • Design systems that handle real-time processing and high-throughput workloads • Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform • Work on data flows, async processing, and system integrations • Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines • Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate development and iteration • Collaborate closely with engineers and founders on architecture and technical decisions
