Requirements
• Breadth of experience across infrastructure, backend, and frontend technology stacks. Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Turbo, Phlex, AlpineJS, TailwindCSS, AWS, PostgresSQL is required. Experience or knowledge in using OpenAI & Claude for LLM interfacing preferred but not mandatory as the company will rapidly evolve their tech stack usage. • Must have a Senior (and above) software engineering role with a product mindset to join Beam's product teams and contribute towards building future technologies, including internal tools using generative AI tooling for caseworkers. • Experience in working collaboratively within high performance cultures where autonomy is valued alongside empowerment and bias-to-action approach preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can take responsibility across all parts of product creation, solving non-technical hard problems with a team that shares similar goals. • Experience in building internal tools for efficient support delivery to people is required; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt and learn quickly, especially when it comes to leveraging LLMs optimally across their systems. • Experience in working with product, design, commercial, and analytics teams is required for deciding on new features within Beam's products; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt quickly to evolving tech stack usage. • Experience in working with a high degree of autonomy and being part of an exceptional team is required for this role; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt quickly to evolving tech stack usage. • Experience in working with features that are used by people and seeing their feedback, especially 5-star ratings for critical features is required; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt quickly to evolving tech stack usage. • Experience in working with Ruby on Rails and other technologies mentioned (Turbo, Phlex, AlpineJS, TailwindCSS) is required; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt quickly to evolving tech stack usage. • Experience in working with AWS and PostgresSQL databases is required; knowledge or experience using generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude preferred but not mandatory as the company values generalists who can adapt quickly to evolving tech stack usage.
Responsibilities
• Help build our technology infrastructure. • Work with product, design, commercial, and analytics teams on new feature development within the Beam platform. • Build internal tools to support team efficiency. • Use generative AI tooling like OpenAI & Claude for LLM interfacing in building caseworker empowerment features. • Investigate optimal use of large language models (LLMs) across systems and applications at Beam.
