OKX - Product Design Director, Orbit

Build a high-performing team capable of shipping at social-product velocity across global markets. • Scale the Orbit design team • Define performance frameworks: Establish accountability for measurable social and engagement outcomes — DAU/MAU, creator retention, stream viewership, community growth, and trade interaction rates. • Define performance frameworks • Evolve design systems and interaction patterns: Support Orbit's fast-moving roadmap while maintaining coherence with the broader OKX design language. • Evolve design systems and interaction patterns: • Advocate for culturally-relevant design: Global social behaviour is not monolithic — optimize for local social norms, communication styles, KOL culture, and trust dynamics across a diverse set of markets. • Advocate for culturally-relevant design • Drive user research and community listening: Build qualitative and quantitative feedback loops with traders, KOLs, and community members to continuously improve the social experience. • Drive user research and community listening • Collaborate cross-functionally: Collaborate with product managers, growth, engineering, compliance, content, and marketing to ensure design decisions align with business, user, and regulatory goals. • Collaborate cross-functionally: • Be the voice of design within the Orbit org: communicate strategic design value, elevate the craft bar, and influence senior leadership decisions. • Be the voice of design within the Orbit org • Track and report on design impact: define and monitor KPIs aligned to creator acquisition, community engagement, social-driven trading volume, and platform trust. • Track and report on design impact • What We Look For In You • 10+ years of experience in product design, with significant time in design leadership and people management. • Demonstrated experience designing social platforms, creator tools, live streaming products, or community-driven applications — ideally at scale. • Deep familiarity with social dynamics, digital culture, and KOL/influencer ecosystems; prior experience preferred. • Experience designing for financial products — trading, fintech, or payments — a strong plus; ability to merge social UX with high-trust financial interaction is key. • Strong ability to hire, develop, and retain top design talent, fostering a culture of craft and accountability. • Data-literate: comfortable interpreting engagement analytics, A/B tests, social behaviour metrics, and funnel data; experience partnering with data/analytics teams. • Track record of shipping in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple dependencies. • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills: able to influence product, engineering, growth, and compliance stakeholders. • Strong communication and storytelling ability — can articulate design rationale to both design peers and senior business leadership. • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, or equivalent experience.
