Requirements

Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Serve as the single engineering DRI for Commerce owning technical vision, strategy, and execution across catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout. • Drive the vision and execution of the next-generation commerce platform leading the shift to a rich, durable catalog domain model • Define and deliver the engineering roadmap in partnership with product and design — balancing innovation, reliability, scalability, and quality across the commerce domain. • Champion clear domain boundaries and enforced contracts — moving the organization off direct cross-domain database access and toward integration through APIs and published events. • Lead the team's transition to an AI-first engineering culture and spec-driven development • Scale architecture and systems with long-term growth and performance in mind, championing evolutionary architecture so the platform stays adaptable as the business and product surface area expand. • Oversee platform architecture for scalability, reliability, security, and compliance — with particular rigor for payments and financially sensitive transactions. • Drive alignment across squads and cross-functional partners to deliver key initiatives while managing competing priorities and trade-offs between speed, technical debt, and innovation. • Partner with data and analytics teams to make commerce smarter — improving pricing, promotion, and checkout experiences that increase conversion and retention. • Mentor and develop engineering leaders, with a focus on succession planning, leadership growth, and building a strong technical bench. • Own staffing and organizational strategy — hiring, headcount planning, and structuring teams to match the evolving needs of the Commerce domain. • Represent engineering in cross-functional and executive-level forums, translating strategy, status, and trade-offs for senior stakeholders and influencing key business decisions.
