Requirements
• Prior experience in primary research, market intelligence, or competitive research roles. • Familiarity with procurement tech platforms or software spend management tools. • Experience managing contractor or SME networks.
Responsibilities
• Bespoke VPR (Vendor Primary Research) Outreach - On an ad-hoc basis, engage software vendors for which we have received premium negotiation requests and do not yet have existing vendor primary research on file. • Proactive VPR Buildout - As capacity allows, systematically work through a prioritized list of top enterprise software vendors, ranked by customer demand and spend volume. • Existing VPR Refresh - Conduct ongoing annual refresh of previously gathered vendor intelligence to ensure accuracy and relevance. • Ride-Along Relationship Management - Build and manage a network of subject matter experts (SMEs) who participate in ride-along capacity during vendor engagements; handle all associated billing, payment, and tax documentation. • Negotiation Prep Packets - When AI/LLM tools are unable to fully ingest all available data sources, manually compile and structure negotiation preparation packets for our negotiators. • YOU ARE LIKELY TO SUCCEED IF… • You have 3+ years of SaaS sales, procurement, or vendor management experience at a high-growth SaaS, Procurement Tech, or B2B company. • You have a proven track record in software sales, renewals, or contract negotiations — either on the buy side or sell side. • You have experience with common enterprise software categories and vendors, including tools like HubSpot, Zendesk, Figma, and similar platforms. • You bring a consultative, curiosity-driven mindset to every vendor conversation — you know how to ask the right questions and read between the lines. • You possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct professional vendor interviews and produce clear, structured research outputs. • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple research threads simultaneously. • You have strong analytical skills : able to interpret contract nuances, pricing structures, and vendor incentives to surface meaningful negotiation intelligence. • You are a self-starter who thrives with autonomy and can manage your own schedule in a flexible, part-time capacity. • You demonstrate a high level of SaaS acumen and a genuine enthusiasm for the procurement and vendor landscape.
