Requirements
• You are a seasoned volatility and options specialist with a proven track record of generating alpha across complex derivatives markets. You bring deep theoretical expertise paired with hands-on trading experience, and you thrive in environments where intellectual rigor, speed, and risk discipline matter. You are equally comfortable operating in traditional equity options markets and crypto-native derivatives venues, and you are motivated by solving challenging problems at the intersection of market structure, volatility, and innovation. • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in options trading, volatility research, or derivatives strategy • Demonstrated ability to generate alpha through active options and volatility trading • Deep understanding of options theory, including Greeks, volatility surfaces, hedging dynamics, and market microstructure • Experience trading or structuring strategies in equity options markets • Exposure to crypto derivatives, including options and futures • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate theory into executable trading strategies • Ability to operate in fast-moving, high-performance trading environments • Experience designing systematic or semi-systematic options or volatility strategies • Familiarity with DeFi derivatives, structured crypto products, or crypto-native volatility instruments • Experience working across both regulated financial markets and emerging digital asset venues
Responsibilities
• Lead volatility and options research and trading initiatives focused on alpha generation and risk mitigation across equity and crypto markets • Analyze, price, and trade options and volatility products across spot, futures, and options markets • Identify and capitalize on cross-market dislocations between spot, futures, and options across asset classes • Design, structure, and manage complex options strategies, including hedging and volatility positioning • Partner closely with trading, risk, and technology teams to implement and scale strategies • Monitor volatility surfaces, Greeks, and market microstructure to inform real-time trading decisions • Contribute to the evolution of Galaxy’s derivatives and volatility capabilities as markets and products mature

The base salary ranges for the levels are as follows: • VP: $200k-$225k base • Dir: $225k-$250k base • The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise.
