Responsibilities

• Growing into the leadership seat • Taking ownership of a small, talented engineering team — setting the tone for quality, collaboration, and accountability • Providing mentorship and constructive feedback that helps engineers level up — something you've likely been doing informally already • Building the habits and rituals that keep a team aligned: standups, retros, 1-to-1s, and clear communication across remote and in-person settings • Staying close to the code • Remaining hands-on in software development — this isn't a role where you disappear into meetings • Upholding coding standards and best practices, and guiding engineers through technical challenges at a peer level • Collaborating with Tech Leads and the Engineering Manager on technical direction, architecture, and continuous improvement • Bridging engineering and the business • Working closely with Product Managers, QA, and Designers to translate ideas into well-delivered outcomes • Contributing to product decisions and helping the team understand the wider context behind what they're building • Spotting risks early and addressing them before they derail delivery
