Requirements

• Passion for creating solutions to solve users’ needs. • Ability to code in at least one programming language. • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team. • Interest in learning and growing as an engineer. • Interest in using AI tools as part of your programming workflow. • Ability to code in modern Javascript or Typescript. • Experience working on a coding project (either a personal project or a professional project). • Experience in using AI tools as part of your programming workflow. • Desire to work across both the frontend and backend. • Our interview process • Application Review - Our Talent and Senior Engineering teams will carefully assess your application, and we’ll be in touch if you’re selected to progress to the next stage. • Assessment Centre (planned for 5th May 2026): • Technical Pairing & Group Exercises - Work through real-world coding challenges alongside senior Motorway engineers. • Culture & Behavioural Interviews - Honest conversations about how you work, what you're excited to build, and how you collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn and Adapt: Pair with senior engineers to understand our codebase and development practices. • Ship real code as part of a team: Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team to contribute to and maintain the Motorway platform, from building responsive UI components to creating serverless backend API endpoints. • Develop with AI-assistance: Use Kiro and other AI tools to accelerate your learning, generate boilerplate, and solve complex problems. • Collaborative growth: Participate in sprint ceremonies, ask questions, and receive regular feedback through 1:1s and code reviews. • WHAT YOU’LL HAVE:
