Requirements
• Exceptional project coordination: able to manage 35+ concurrent workstreams, track deadlines across jurisdictions, and close information gaps without being chased. • Strong written communication — specifically the ability to write instructions a non-specialist can follow without hand-holding. • Comfort with a variable workload. Hours range from 4–20/week depending on filing cycles; you don't need constant volume to stay on top of things. • Background in detail-heavy operational work — events coordination, government filings, permitting, legal ops, or similar environments translates directly. • A self-starter who can operate independently, recognize when to escalate, and doesn't need a pre-built process to get started. • No prior licensing or compliance experience required. • CONTRACT DETAILS • Hours: ~30/week for the first ~8 weeks, then ~10–15/week ongoing (average ~10 hrs/week) • Duration: Indefinite • Location: Remote (US-based) • Don’t meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you're bringing ambition and drive to what we're building, we want to hear from you. • WHAT YOU'LL GET AT TILT • Virtual-first teamwork: The Tilt team is collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting. You’ll get started with a WFH office reimbursement. • Competitive pay: We're big on potential, and it's reflected in our competitive compensation packages and generous equity. • Complete support: Find flexible health plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards. • Visibility is yours: You can count on direct exposure to our leadership team — we’re a team where good ideas travel quickly. • Paid global onsites: Magic happens IRL: we gather twice yearly to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (We’ve visited Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, to name a few.) • Impact is recognized: Growth opportunities follow your contributions, not rigid promotion timelines. • We're looking for people who chase excellence and impact. Those who stand behind their work, celebrating the wins and learning from the missteps equally. We foster an environment where every voice is valued and mutual respect is non-negotiable — brilliant jerks need not apply. We're in this together, working to expand access to fair credit and prove that people are incredible. When you join us, it's not just another day at the office, you're helping millions of hardworking people reach better financial futures. • You’re pushing ahead in your career? We can get behind that. Join us in building the credit system that people deserve.
Responsibilities
• Own the license application sprint. Manage end-to-end submission of 35 new state license applications — tracking deadlines, coordinating data requests, and ensuring every filing is complete and accurate across jurisdictions. • Support control person onboarding. Coordinate the addition of two new control people to existing licenses, navigating each state's specific requirements with care and precision. • Drive the in-house transition. Help move license management off the external platform and into our internal system — documenting processes as you go so the function is self-sustaining when you're done. • Manage ongoing renewals. After the initial sprint wraps, provide steady part-time support for annual license renewals and regulatory reporting obligations. • Write clear process documentation. Create step-by-step instructions for board members on their licensing obligations — written for non-specialists, not lawyers.
Benefits
• Strong project coordination instincts — you take a list of requirements, identify what's missing, and drive to completion without being asked twice. Systems and checklists are your natural habitat. • Clear written communication — you can write step-by-step instructions a non-specialist can follow without assumed context or background. • Available for a variable schedule: roughly 30 hours/week for the first 8 weeks, transitioning to 10–15 hours/week ongoing, with natural fluctuation based on filing cycles. • Background in operations, events coordination, project management, or any detail-intensive professional environment. Experience with government filings or permitting (any industry) is a genuine plus. No licensing or financial services background required. • Proactive and self-directed — comfortable operating independently on well-scoped work, and equally comfortable surfacing issues or blockers when they arise. • Don’t meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you're bringing ambition and drive to what we're building, we want to hear from you. • What you'll get at Tilt • Virtual-first teamwork: The Tilt team is collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting.
