Whatnot - Marketing Manager, Japan

• Experience: 5–10 years in consumer or category marketing, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You’ve seen excellent marketing first-hand and applied those lessons to drive measurable results • A strong track record of developing and executing go-to-market, brand, or consumer marketing initiatives from strategy through launch and iteration • Experience building and managing external relationships with partners such as influencers, creators, agencies, sellers, media, or other key industry stakeholders • Influencer marketing expertise: Proven track record building and managing a roster of influencers and creators as a performance channel, driving first-time sellers and buyers • Creative & performance content: Ability to develop and deliver content that performs in paid ads and fuels acquisition at scale • Event marketing: Experience planning and executing digital and in-person events that deliver measurable growth and community engagement • You speak fluent English and native Japanese, with a strong understanding of Japanese consumer behavior, culture, and market dynamics • Experience at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform • An existing network of sellers, creators, and influencers within a Whatnot product category. • Proficiency in SQL • Passion for creator communities and/or categories that thrive on Whatnot (e.g., collectibles, fashion toys, TCG) • Experience buying and selling in online marketplaces.
