Requirements
• Production experience designing and building backend services • Ability to communicate with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals • Experience with orchestration technologies (e.g., Agones, Kubernetes, AccelByte, Playfab), knowing when (and when not) to reach for them • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust • Strong knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux (including shell scripting and system configuration) • Embrace a “we” culture in addition to being an outstanding collaborator and communicator • Experience with “games as a service” online game development • Experience with multiple cloud providers and infrastructure-as-code systems like Terraform and Ansible • Please refer to our Candidate Privacy Notice for more information about how we process your personal information, and your data protection rights. • At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Responsibilities
• Build and maintain production-quality backend game orchestration services, including dynamic resource allocation, monitoring, and security • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design the interface between the orchestration system, matchmaking systems, and internal developer experience • Effectively write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communication, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams • Calmly deal with production incidents, participating in an on-call rotation after launch
