Northbeam - Staff Data Scientist
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a highly quantitative STEM field (Master’s preferred). • 6+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and causal inference, with hands-on experience applying these methods to real business problems (e.g., regression, time series analysis, A/B testing, Bayesian modeling). • Familiarity with optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, mixed-integer programming, etc.). • Proficiency in Python and/or R, SQL, and experience working with modern data platforms and statistical modeling libraries. • Experience working with production code and comfort making changes to live models and pipelines. • Interest in (or prior experience with) marketing measurement, including MMM and incrementality, with a strong desire to deepen domain expertise. • Thrives in a small, fast-paced environment, with the ability to drive projects end-to-end. • Strong communication skills, with comfort explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences and supporting customer-facing investigations. • A growth mindset and genuine curiosity about improving measurement quality and decision-making. • 2+ years of experience in marketing attribution, MMM, or related marketing measurement challenges. • Familiarity with MLOps practices and data pipeline orchestration tools. • Startup Experiences • PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a highly quantitative STEM field.

We also provide a $500 work-from-home stipend to support your remote setup. • Interview ProcessThe interview process varies by role but typically begins with a 30-minute interview with a Northbeam recruiter, followed by a video interview with the hiring manager. Next, candidates complete a role-specific video interview followed by video or onsite interviews with several team members. The final step is a video interview with our CEO/Co-founder. The entire interview process is usually 5-7 interviews total and requires around 5-8 hours of your time.
