Requirements

• Bachelor's degree completed or in progress • Strong math foundation, particularly in competition math topics • Personal experience with AMC 8, AMC 10/12, or other math competitions is a plus • Passion for making competition math accessible and exciting for middle school students • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Able to commit at least one semester with fixed teaching schedule (Fall semester ends in Dec. 2026) • Available to work during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends • Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, camp teaching, or working with K–8 students is a plus • Available to attend a 5-day on-site training (paid) in San Jose, CA as part of onboarding

Responsibilities

• 1) Stronger Teaching Support • Teach with high-quality curriculum, lesson materials, and instructional guidance • Receive structured onboarding and ongoing training • Collaborate with a team instead of teaching in isolation • Spend less time building materials from scratch and more time focusing on teaching • 2) Long-Term Career Growth • High-performing teachers may grow into opportunities such as: • Lead Teacher or Mentor • Curriculum and Lesson Development • Teacher Training Support • Academic Operations or Management roles • This role is especially well-suited for candidates seeking a professional teaching path with both instructional depth and long-term advancement opportunities. • 3) Competitive and Meaningful Earnings • Compensation for both teaching and non-teaching work (grading, class preparation, parent communication) • Performance-based increases and advancement opportunities • Potential to continue into year-round teaching, creating more stable long-term earnings • Teach AMC 8 math classes in a clear, engaging, and student-centered way • Deliver competition-focused lessons using Think Academy's curriculum, lesson materials, and instructional guidance • Support students in building problem-solving skills, mathematical thinking, and competition confidence • Introduce creative and challenging math topics beyond standard curriculum (combinatorics, number theory, geometry, logic) • Manage a virtual or in-person classroom and create a positive learning environment • Grade homework and provide timely academic feedback • Communicate professionally with students and parents about progress, performance, and competition goals • Participate in teacher training, lesson preparation, and ongoing professional development • Work approximately 30–40 hours per week, with most classes scheduled during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends
