Requirements
• Understand how APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations work. Discuss technical constraints with engineering teams directly. • Conduct user interviews, validate assumptions with data, and translate feedback into product requirements. • Use prototyping tools like Figma or Framer to mock up user flows before development begins. • Know what no-code automation tools, LLMs, and AI features can and cannot do. Evaluate when to build vs. integrate. • Define success criteria upfront and adjust product decisions based on post-launch performance data. • Experience at a PE-backed firm, portfolio company, or scaling stage SaaS company. • Track record launching multiple products from concept through customer adoption. • Background in pricing strategy, packaging, or monetization decisions. • You identify product gaps and write one-pagers with recommendations before being asked. • You own cross-functional initiatives stuck in ambiguity and drive alignment across functions to resolution. • You track competitor releases and market trends, surfacing insights that shift your team's focus. • You credit collaborators for shaping product decisions and visibly change recommendations when data contradicts your assumptions. • You push back on shipping when edge cases or success criteria are unresolved, even under timeline pressure. • You defined success metrics before development started, enabling fast iteration or rollback.
Responsibilities
• Conduct discovery and validation across 2-3 portfolio companies to identify customer needs, market gaps, and product opportunities. • Translate strategic priorities into detailed product roadmaps with clear sequencing, success metrics, and resource requirements. • Define and track leading and lagging indicators for shipped features and conduct post-launch analysis to validate business impact. • Prototype and validate product concepts using wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user interviews before engineering investment. • Map end-to-end user journeys for core workflows and identify friction points, automation opportunities, and integration capabilities. • Partner with engineering to evaluate build vs. buy decisions and assess technical feasibility and long-term maintainability.
