• Are you an executive-level accounting pro who is highly organized, has experience building and managing a high-performing team, is skilled at communication and problem solving, and adept at managing multiple priorities? Do you thrive in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fluid environment? • Justworks is looking for a VP Accounting with a proven track record of building and leading an exceptional accounting organization, being the executive lead to champion and execute accounting-related initiatives, communicate and obtain buy-in across the leadership team, and oversee the SEC-readiness process to ensure Justworks is set up for success in the event of a public offering. The successful candidate will adapt quickly to change and will champion the advancement of processes and controls across the entire accounting organization that will enhance the accounting and overall finance function at Justworks, reporting to the CFO. • Your Success Profile • 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in an SEC-compliant organization or as an auditor for an SEC-filer at a top tier accounting firm; • BS Degree in Accounting or related field (MBA/MSA a plus); CPA certification is required; • Experience managing and building out a team, and; • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. • The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $300,000 - $330,000 per year. • #LI-Hybrid #LI-SD1 • Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Responsibilities
• Build out a top-tier Accounting team to support Justworks becoming an SEC compliant public company. This includes appropriate leveling/staffing for Controller’s Group, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Financial Systems; • Develop strong communication cadence with CFO and VP Finance to ensure all critical accounting matters are raised with the appropriate level of urgency and forethought; • Work closely with senior leadership across the organization to monitor ongoing and upcoming business transactions to identify any that require a technical accounting assessment or new corporate accounting procedures; • Prepare executive accounting summaries to address any new items or identified issues as well as concise action plans to provide to CFO and executive team, and prepare quarterly communication to Audit Committee related to pertinent accounting matters; • Work closely with Internal Audit function and key Accounting team leaders to develop and implement a formal control framework around month-end close, financial reporting, tax reporting and systems management in compliance with SOX 404 to ensure proper internal controls over financial reporting; • Responsible for review of consolidated financial statements and related disclosures and analytics for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and Regulation S-X and S-K; • Ensure the company’s internal and external reports consistently reflect the Justworks story and messaging while remaining in compliance with SEC regulations and required disclosures. • Prepare strategic analyses on income statement presentation, non-GAAP disclosures, including free cash flow and net revenues, and other disclosed KPIs; • Maintain annual and quarterly project plans for organizational planning and key team objectives, including resource allocation and communication plans to be shared with CFO, within Accounting team, and with any cross-functional PMOs. • As a VP of Accounting, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately result in our success as an organization.
