Requirements
• We use Node.js, TypeScript and GCP in our production environment. However, our interview process is language-agnostic, we’re more interested in how you approach problems than the specific tools you use. That said, we do expect you to be open to working with our tech stack if you join us.
Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot backend systems to ensure high performance and reliability for Freetrade's online platform. • Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineers in the team to understand requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs. • Write clean, efficient code following best practices and coding standards; refactor legacy systems when necessary. • Monitor system performance using various tools and identify bottlenecks or issues affecting user experience. • Implement security measures for backend services including data encryption, access control mechanisms, and secure API design to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access. • Test code thoroughly before deployment; write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests as needed. • Troubleshoot issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools promptly and efficiently using a systematic approach. • Document APIs and backend systems to facilitate understanding for other team members and future maintenance efforts. • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, frameworks, libraries, and best practices in software development relevant to Freetrade's technology stack; participate actively in knowledge sharing within the team or community when possible.
