Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. • 3–5 years of experience in database administration or related roles. • Strong proficiency with SQL Server and hands-on understanding of T-SQL and database concepts. • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and SQL on Azure VMs. • Experience with database monitoring tools and concepts like Execution Plans and Query Store. • Solid understanding of database security, access controls, and compliance requirements • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to travel up <10% as business needs require. • Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary: primarily desk/computer work. • Must be legally authorized to work in United Kingdom; Elite does not provide employment sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Own administration and support of assigned database platforms and environments. • Analyze execution plans, query store, and wait statistics to troubleshoot slow-running queries. • Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations, including Geo-Replication, Failover Groups, and Point-in-Time Restore. • Support existing PowerShell scripts and Azure Runbooks for operational tasks such as index and statistics maintenance. • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex database performance and availability issues. • Implement performance tuning, indexing, and optimization strategies. • Support database design reviews and collaborate with Engineering teams on schema changes. • Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions • Automate routine database operations and monitoring where possible • Contribute to database standards, documentation, and operational best practices • Communicate database risks, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders • Ability to participate in on-call or incident response rotations as required • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
