Requirements

• Passion for EdReports’ mission and vision, our core values, and our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity; • A commitment to uphold EdReports’ organizational norms and values; • 8+ years of experience in K–12 education, state departments of education, and/or nonprofit instructional leadership, with significant focus on multilingual learners; • 3+ years supervising teams, with preference for experience leading multi-layered teams in a start-up, nonprofit, or growing environment; • Deep expertise in second language acquisition theory and research; • Strong knowledge of biliteracy frameworks, English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards, and the state policy landscape impacting multilingual learners; • Demonstrated experience supporting grade-level access for multilingual learners within standards-aligned instructional materials; • Proven ability to design or refine tools, systems, or processes grounded in research and evidence; • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders; • Strategic and project management expertise, including experience managing budgets and consultant networks; • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment; • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work; • Bachelor’s degree (in education, linguistics, or a related field) or equivalent experience; • Residency in and authorization to work in the United States. • Preferred: • Experience reviewing instructional materials or developing curriculum; • Experience partnering with product or research teams in tool development; • Experience engaging with publishers or influencing instructional materials markets; • Master’s degree or higher in a related field. • All EdReports employees must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. EdReports does not sponsor employment visas, and we are unable to consider candidates residing outside the U.S. • Work is normally performed in a remote office environment including, but not limited to standing and sitting for long periods of time; and fine-finger and hand manipulation to operate a computer and keyboard. Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing electronic information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. This person will travel by car, air, or other transportation (as indicated in the Travel section) and should be able to physically withstand the demands of such travel. Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, improvement, and execution of K–12 MLL instructional materials reviews in partnership with content-area review teams • Manage and coach MLL Leads, providing clear expectations, professional growth, and performance feedback • Ensure that all EdReports reviews incorporate a calibrated MLL lens aligned to evidence-based practices and grade-level access • Partner closely with the EdReports Development team to support grant writing, funder cultivation, and ongoing funder engagement, contributing MLL expertise to strengthen funding strategy and sustain the growth of MLL reviews • Lead the development, refinement, and/or piloting of new or revised tools in partnership with the Product (RDI) team, serving as subject matter expert and making decisions related to resource and strategic management • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between MLL and content review teams to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consensus in published reports • Manage MLL-related budgets, consultant networks, and grant-aligned workstreams in alignment with organizational priorities • Lead publisher engagement related to MLL reviews and findings, supporting understanding of EdReports’ criteria and advancing improvements in the curriculum marketplace • Represent EdReports in national and virtual field engagement opportunities, partnerships, and collaborative initiatives related to multilingual learner support • Own and drive the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for MLL reviews including integrating, maintaining, and improving a multilingual learner (MLL) lens across all K–12 EdReports review systems in alignment with organizational priorities, research, and policy developments • Outcomes: • Assess current MLL work (reviews, ELSF, internal projects) and identify key risks to timelines, quality, and team capacity • Establish initial partnership norms with Product and the Review Design Innovation team (RDI), including clarity on roles, key touchpoints, and shared ownership of MLL-related projects • Begin aligning with cross-functional partners (Reviews, FS, Product/RDI) on MLL review cadence, expectations, and integration points across teams • Contribute to MLL project direction decisions in partnership with Product (RDI), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and team capacity • Establish and begin implementing a cross-content calibration process to strengthen coherence and efficiency between MLL and core content review • Develop and communicate a clear MLL roadmap, including priorities, sequencing, and accountability, alongside a strong understanding of MLL budget and resource allocation • Define and formalize the MLL team operating model, culminating in a completed team charter (roles, responsibilities, decision-making norms, and ways of working) • Ensure MLL lens is consistently integrated across active reviews, with documented protocols and evidence of cross-team alignment • Demonstrate progress toward K–5 Early Mathematics MLL report publication aligned to quality and timeline expectations • Achieve strong team functioning, including evidence of effective collaboration, resolved tension points, and clear performance expectations for MLL Leads • Establish effective management of MLL resources (budget, consultants, staffing) to support a sustainable cadence and high-quality outputs • Travel • National travel will occur related to organizational needs and for professional learning, as needed. The amount of travel will be monitored to ensure it is appropriate for both the organization and the Director, Multilingual Learners.

Benefits

• The salary for this position is $102,824 - $139,114 annually. At EdReports, we determine final salaries based on the role's requirements and the candidate's experience and skills, while maintaining equity within our compensation bands.
