Requirements
• 5+ years of experience • Proficient in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks/libraries like React • Solid knowledge of Kotlin, Python and backend frameworks like Hibernate, Spring • Extensive experience in fullstack development, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies. • Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, from conception through execution. • A passion for creating high-quality, scalable, and performant code. • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience • A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems • Technologies we use and teach: • Typescript, Kotlin • Jest, cypress.io
Responsibilities
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to significantly contribute to the success of Faire's business and engineering platform. • Collaboration: • Product Ownership: Share ownership of our product, contributing to ongoing improvements that enhance the customer experience. • Product Ownership: • Technical Leadership: Help define the team's technical direction and roadmap, influencing the overall strategic direction of our engineering efforts. • Technical Leadership: • Technical Improvements: Identify, prioritize, and drive technical improvements through multi-month projects that enhance the platform's performance and scalability. • Technical Improvements: • Framework Development: Contribute to setting the technical direction of our server-driven UI framework. Design and execute engineering solutions that align with framework goals, ensuring scalability and broad adoption. • Framework Development: • Backend Development: Unblock self by contributing to backend development, specially presentation layer, of server-driven UI functionalities and applications. • Backend Development: • Data Science and Data Engineering: build ETL pipelines for Data Science needs, build new models using prompt engineering and RAG solutions. • Data Science and Data Engineering: • Performance Optimization: Optimize horizontal frameworks for peak performance and scalability. Work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Next.js, applying in-depth knowledge of frontend and backend performance techniques. • Performance Optimization: • Mentorship: Mentor fellow developers by sharing industry best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. • Mentorship:
Benefits
• Canada: the pay range for this role is $156,000 - $214,500 per year. • This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. • Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
