Requirements
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing a mobile engineering team • Excel at both writing production code and leading engineering teams, with experience shipping complex features from concept to deployment • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and can balance multiple priorities while maintaining team focus • An obsession with great user experiences, getting the details right, iterating and learning rapidly, and working hard • Experience at a consumer tech company is preferred • Experience at both larger and smaller, high-growth companies is preferred • Experience scaling teams to 20+ software engineers is preferred • A love of music (listening, exploring, making) is preferred • Perks & Benefits for Full-Time Employees
Responsibilities
• Lead a team of mobile engineers to develop high-quality software products for Android and iOS platforms. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, QA, product management, etc., ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines. • Oversee the hiring process by identifying candidates' skills that match our mobile engineering needs during interviews or screenings. • Provide guidance to engineers in their professional development through mentorship programs and skill enhancement opportunities. • Monitor team performance, providing feedback and coaching as necessary for continuous improvement. • Manage project timelines by setting clear objectives with the engineering team at the beginning of each sprint or release cycle. • Ensure that all mobile development projects adhere to industry standards in terms of design, user experience (UX), performance optimization, security best practices, and compliance requirements. • Communicate regularly with stakeholders including product management, marketing teams, executives, etc., providing updates on project progress, roadblocks encountered, or changes required based on feedback received. • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align the mobile engineering team's goals and priorities with broader company objectives. • Review code quality by conducting regular code reviews and ensuring that all engineers adhere to our coding standards for readability, maintainability, security, etc. • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in the mobile space such as new frameworks or tools relevant to Android/iOS development; evaluate their potential impact on current projects before integration into workflows.
