Requirements
• Skills needed: • Legal expertise in Swiss financial and crypto regulation. • Proven experience working within structured internal control systems of audited companies. • Familiarity with data privacy laws, contract law, governance frameworks. • Experience managing external counsel and regulatory relationships. • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining legal processes and documentation. • Strong communication skills in English. • Understanding of the financial industry's structure regarding intellectual property across various instruments (optional). • Years of experience: Minimum 5-6 years post-qualification experience required, with a preference for those who have worked within structured internal control systems and managed external counsel relationships. • Education: Law degree and bar admission in Switzerland or an equivalent European jurisdiction is mandatory. Experience working at the intersection of financial services/fintech/crypto regulation would be advantageous, though not explicitly stated as a requirement. • Certifications: SRO memberships (e.g., VQF) are required along with experience in AML frameworks and compliance management within these areas. Responsibilities
• Contractual & Commercial Work: • Draft agreements such as grant agreements and service level agreements. • Negotiate terms for token agreements. • Develop Terms & Conditions for online platforms and rewards programs. • Support commercial teams with legally sound, business-oriented solutions. • Regulatory & Compliance: • Advise on Swiss crypto regulations as well as international (EU, US) financial services laws. • Manage compliance with SRO memberships and AML frameworks. • Develop internal policies for AML/KYC, data privacy, conflict of interest, etc. • Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external legal advisors when necessary. • Governance & Risk Management: • Support the creation and regular updates to governance frameworks. • Assess and manage risks aligned with business objectives within the crypto industry's risk profile. • Contribute to audit processes for regulatory readiness. • Maintain a company’s legal database, contract repository, and agreement calendar. • External Counsel & Research: • Conduct research on financial regulations in Switzerland and internationally (EU/US). • Provide internal guidance based on the latest developments. • Manage external counsel effectively concerning quality, efficiency, and cost. • Personal Attributes are not responsibilities but qualities required for this role: • Strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach to solutions.
