Proxima Fusion - Senior Software Engineer (Dev Platform)
Requirements
• We’re seeking a software engineer with a strong foundation in computer science and an understanding or hands-on experience with DevOps, CloudOps, or Platform engineering practices. • Familiar with the development and management of scalable cloud infrastructure, ideally as used in science, ML or other data processing-heavy use cases. • Experienced in end-to-end/full-stack system design, ideally within an environment supporting physics, engineering, or AI teams. • Proficient in Python and Linux. • Driven to solve complex problems with simple solutions and a desire to contribute to clean energy.
Responsibilities
• Design and develop a platform that helps simulation, optimization and stellarator design teams to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals more efficiently. • Champion the Cloud Infrastructure Operations. • Manage general cloud infrastructure (including IaaC, permission management, and cloud efficiency). • Support the democratization of cloud computing (e.g. K8s, Ray, Dask, Docker, PEX). • Unify and streamline the development experience (including CI/CD, Devcontainers, and monorepos). • Improving observability. • Manage Distributed Computing and High-Performance Computing clusters for research, stellarator design and optimization. • Raise the bar in our cross-org DevOps practices and optimize our DORA metrics.
