Box - Backend Software Engineer III, Metadata Core
Requirements
• You have 4+ years of professional software development experience. • Proficient in Java, familiarity with other scripting languages like Python, Scala or PHP is a plus. • Proven ability to design, build, and deploy high-quality software. • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming. • Skilled in designing and developing APIs. • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB preferred. • Passionate about new technologies with the capability to implement them in existing products. • Proficiency in spoken and written English. • Experience working with message queues and/or streaming data systems like Kafka/PubSub. • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Service (AWS) or Azure. • Experience deploying and operating microservices on Kubernetes. • METHODOLOGY • Agile management - Scrum • Issue tracking tool - Jira • Knowledge repository - Confluence • Code reviews - GitHub Enterprise • Version control system - GIT • Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture. Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable services with a focus on reliability, observability, operability and efficiency. • Collaborate with partner teams and domain architects on system design and services integration. • Be heavily involved in defining the vision and assembling feature roadmaps. • Work with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, BigTable, and Istio. • Strengthen engineering processes, principles, and culture within the team and across Box, by championing a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection. • We are an AI-first company.
