Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams • Strong background in backend systems and microservices – a grasp of key technologies like Java and Spring in general is required • Proven experience owning team processes and delivery systems, not just output • Comfortable leading teams across locations and time zones • Strong communication, execution, and people leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership • Co-own the technical direction and evolution of the B2B Card Issuance vertical • Facilitate discussions on architecture and design across regions, ensuring team liaises with tech leads setting the architecture strategy for B2B Card Issuance • Own production stability, reliability, security, and service quality • Proactively work with the team to manage and address technical debt • Delivery, Planning & Ways of Working • Shape and continuously improve how the team works, ensuring engineers have clarity, focus, and the right operating rhythms. • Effectively liaise with your EM peer to ensure we adopt processes and ways of working currently in place thus ensuring a consistent approach across regions and teams • Establish and maintain effective work categorisation and prioritisation (e.g. roadmap initiatives, KTLO, tech debt, operational work) • Own and maintain healthy JIRA boards, planning rituals, and delivery tracking conforming to pre-established practices • Define and evolve team rituals, documentation, and communication practices to support predictable delivery and sustainable pace in collaboration with EM peers in B2B Card Issuance • Ensure the team has the right processes, tooling, and context to do their best work • Execution & Impact • Deliver a multi-quarter roadmap aligned with product and business goals • Partner with Product to prioritise work and manage dependencies • Measure and communicate impact using meaningful product and engineering metrics • Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and team health • Work closely with your B2B Card Issuance peers to ensure we build a culture of ONE B2B Card Issuance team • People Leadership • Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers through regular 1:1s and feedback • Support career development, performance reviews, and progression • Build a high-trust, ownership-driven team culture • Collaboration & Culture • Work closely with Senior EMs and engineering teams across India and Malta • Promote a customer-first, engineering-excellence mindset • Contribute to hiring and team scaling
