Requirements

• Extensive software development experience as an individual contributor, and a proven track record as an Engineering Manager leading multiple, distributed software engineering teams. • A strong product sense and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results across the full product lifecycle through lean, outcome focused rituals minimizing unnecessary process. • Demonstrated ability to provide technical depth, diving deep into complex architectural problems and guiding senior engineers to sound decisions. • A strategic thinker, comfortable setting technical vision over a 6-12 month horizon and managing a complex portfolio of projects. • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in a remote-first environment. • A track record of hiring and developing senior talent, with a passion for helping engineers advance their careers. • High sense of ownership and a strong growth mindset; you are a collaborative, humble learner who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with Python / Typescript & React • Experience delivering high-performance, data-intensive user interfaces and robust APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software products on time and within budget constraints. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, QA, operations, sales, marketing, customer success, finance, HR, legal, procurement, facilities, IT security, infrastructure engineering, data science to ensure alignment of goals across the organization and successful delivery. • Drive technical excellence by fostering a culture that encourages innovation while maintaining high standards for code quality, design patterns, testing practices, documentation, and adherence to industry best practices. • Develop strategic plans aligned with business objectives; identify opportunities for process improvements or new product development initiatives within the engineering team's scope of work. • Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers in their career growth while ensuring that they are up-to-date on industry trends and technologies relevant to our products. • Participate actively in code reviews, architectural discussions, design sprints, retrospectives, and other team activities aimed at continuous improvement of the engineering process. • Represent the Engineering Management Team externally by engaging with stakeholders such as senior management, product owners, customers, partners, vendors to understand their needs and communicate technical decisions effectively. • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for individual team members and overall engineering function; provide regular feedback on progress towards goals while identifying areas of improvement or additional training needed. • Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to intellectual property, data privacy regulations such as GDPR/CCPA, industry standards like ISO 27001 for information security management and SOC 2 reports where applicable in the organization's operations.

The OTE offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
