aescape - Senior / Staff Backend Engineer
Requirements
• Demonstrated workplace proficiency in at least one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, or similar) • Degree in-or experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering. • Strong understanding of database design and modeling (e.g., PostgreSQL) • Proven track record developing scalable systems and RESTful services • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes • Understanding of automated testing, deployment processes, and tools • Bias toward action - iteratively creating solutions and deploying to production frequently • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel to our NYC office a few times a year
Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable, robust APIs in Golang that power our main applications • Enforce best practices in coding, testing, and documentation across the team • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in both development and production environments • Contribute to architectural discussions and strategic planning for our backend ecosystem • Be diligent, curious, and take complete ownership of your code end-to-end with a clear sense of urgency. • Leverage data-driven insights to refine system performance and functionality • Drive data-informed decisions by leveraging analytics to refine system performance • Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to shape innovative features
