Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with time spent as a tech lead or senior engineer accountable for a team's output • Strong technical foundation across the stack. Comfortable in Python and TypeScript/React, or eager to pick them up quickly • Track record of shipping commerce or billing systems in production: subscription plans, seat management, entitlements, pricing changes, or similar • Clear communicator with strong product mindset who translates business needs into technical priorities and keeps stakeholders aligned • Comfort with ambiguity. This is a new team in a fast-moving company; you'll help define the playbook • Motivated by ownership and impact. You want to build something meaningful, not manage process • Stripe API at depth: Billing, Connect, webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation • Usage-based billing: metering, rating, proration, invoice accuracy at scale • Event-driven architecture or data pipelines for collecting usage metrics efficiently across a platform • Integrations across the CRM, billing, and accounting stack (Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, Xero, etc.) • Designing for global payments: multi-currency, tax, and regional payment methods • Using AI development workflows to ship faster without compromising quality • The way we work • The way we work • 1. Responsibilities

• Lead a small, focused team building Heidi's billing, payments, subscriptions, and entitlements systems; the engine behind how we monetise and scale • Stay hands-on in the code: ship features, review architecture, and set the technical bar • Own delivery end-to-end for your team's roadmap, balancing velocity with reliability and operational rigour • Coach the engineers working with you.
