Requirements
• A solid understanding of Exposure Management and Unified Vulnerability Management (VM) and IT in general. • A deep understanding of modern, decentralized IT architectures—moving beyond the traditional perimeter to secure Hybrid-Cloud, Multi-Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and Edge Computing environments. • Prior experience in a security-related technical pre-sales role, with the ability to craft custom demos rather than just "canned" presentations. • Confidence in leading discussions that span from deep-dive technical sessions to C-suite executive presentations. • Strong interpersonal "smarts," empathy, and a self-starter attitude. Teamwork is the core of our culture. • Professional fluency in German and English is essential. Willingness to travel within Austria and the broader DACH region (typically 25%). • And Ideally: • Knowledge of Cloud Computing (CNAPP, CIEM, CSPM, CWP) and modern automation. • 5+ years of experience in a direct Sales Engineering role with a proven track record in the DACH security market. • Understanding the "AI Exposure Gap," specifically how to secure Large Language Model (LLM) architectures and agentic systems. • Experience with Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems / Cyber-physical systems is a major differentiator given Austria’s strong manufacturing and energy sectors. • A strong grasp of the compliance landscape impacting local enterprises, specifically NIS2, DORA, TISAX, and GDPR. • Industry-recognized credentials such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or platform-specificcertifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security). • We’re committed to promoting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) at Tenable - through all equal employment opportunity laws and regulations at the international, federal, state and local levels. Responsibilities
• Are you an experienced Security Sales Engineer with a passion for Exposure Management? Do you thrive on translating complex technical capabilities into tangible business value? Tenable is looking for a proactive, results-oriented and strategically minded Security Engineer to own and drive the pre-sales process for our full solution stack across Austria. You will partner with your Territory Manager to differentiate Tenable solutions from the competition, architectingunique business value for our customers and building a community of "raving fans" within your region. • Your Opportunity: • Your Opportunity: • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Exposure Management and a trusted advisor to some of Austria’s leading organizations. • Drive exposure management and remediation efforts—prioritizing issues, implementing mitigations, and designing strategic preventative controls. • Meet with prospective clients to uncover security challenges and high-priority business drivers regarding cyber exposure. • Work hand-in-hand with regional sales and channel teams to drive Tenable’s business growth in the DACH market. • Map Tenable’s unique value to customer challenges through Proof-of-Value (PoV) engagements, technical workshops, and custom-tailored demos. • Lead technical responses to RFPs/RFIs and influence product direction by providing feedback from the Austrian market back to our engineering teams. • Act as the face and voice of Tenable across Austria, speaking at key industry events (e.g. LSZ Forum) and providing thought leadership to spark local market demand for Exposure Management.
