Requirements
• 5+ years total professional software development experience • Clojure – 2+ years: Hands-on experience building and maintaining backend systems in Clojure • React Native – 1+ year: Experience contributing to mobile application development • TypeScript – 1+ year: Experience working with typed JavaScript in frontend or mobile environments • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, and maintainability • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional product teams • Comfortable operating at a mid to senior level, taking ownership of features and contributing to technical decisions • Experience working in financial services, fintech, or regulated environments • Exposure to mobile-first or customer-facing applications at scale • Familiarity with functional programming principles beyond Clojure • Experience improving developer workflows, tooling, or engineering practices • Interest in long-term product development and growing with the platform over time
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Clojure, contributing to robust, scalable systems • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver well-scoped, high-quality features • Contribute to frontend and mobile development where required, particularly using React Native and TypeScript • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that meets engineering and security standards • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-making • Help identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debt • Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and system reliability • Work effectively within an agile team, delivering iteratively and responding to evolving priorities
