Requirements
• Experience in end-to-end data engineering: ETL, data integration, and data modelling • Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning • Solid programming skills in data-focused languages (preferably Python, PySpark) • Experience maintaining and analysing legacy systems for migration purposes • Knowledge of data design patterns (data lakehouse, data warehousing) • Experience with CI/CD practices and Git version control • Familiarity with or willingness to learn IaC tools such as Terraform • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, ownership, and adaptability • Nice to have: experience with orchestration/scheduling tools, BI, and data visualisation (e.g. Tableu) • Years of experience: Senior level (typically 5+ years in data engineering or equivalent experience) • Key skills: Python; SQL; ETL & data integration; Cloud (AWS / Databricks); Data modelling • Preferred start / end date • Preferred start date: 1 May 2026 or ASAP after this date • End date: 30 April 2027 + option for prolongation • Company offers: • An opportunity to shape HR modernisation and contribute to Danske Bank’s digital transformation journey • Work in an international, cross-functional team with business and IT colleagues across locations • Freedom to innovate with modern cloud and data tooling, and to promote engineering best practices • €5,000 - €9,000 a month • We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support HR modernisation • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions • Lead migration to cloud-based infrastructure and modernise ETL tools and processes • Work with DevOps aspects of data engineering, including infrastructure setup, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) • Ensure data quality and governance by implementing frameworks for accuracy, consistency, and compliance • Promote best practices in data engineering and stay up to date with emerging technologies • Mentor junior colleagues • Contribute to broader organisational digitalisation and technical innovation
