Requirements
• 5+ years in backend or infrastructure engineering roles • 2+ years managing or mentoring engineers • Strong project management skills—able to drive initiatives from planning to delivery • Excellent communication skills in English (required for collaboration with US-based leadership) • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable) • Hands-on experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools • Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker) • Background in Python, Go, or Java for automation and tooling • Knowledge of security best practices, networking fundamentals, and incident management • Airship’s ‘Digital First’ approach to work means that for the majority of our roles, work can be performed remotely, either some or most of the time. Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers • Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to create a productive team environment • Anticipate, plan, and execute infrastructure projects aligned with company and customer needs • Participate in hiring as the team grows, including defining hiring strategy and conducting technical interviews • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and security teams • Support broader company initiatives as needed beyond the immediate team scope • Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform • Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automation • Evaluate and implement emerging infrastructure tools and practices • Support company initiatives around cost optimization, security, disaster recovery, and compliance • Respond to and manage critical incidents effectively
Benefits
• The starting base pay range for this position is: $150,000-$180,000 per year. Base pay is part of the total compensation package and is determined by a variety of factors such as relevant skills, work experience, business priorities, market demands, and location.
