Span - Platform Engineer
Requirements
• Build AI-powered platform tooling that identifies the root causes of recurring operational work (KTLO), automates repetitive tasks, and recommends long-term engineering improvements. • Create an internal developer platform including a software catalog, service ownership model, and engineering portal that teams actually enjoy using, whether they're working in microservices or monoliths. • Improve developer experience by building workflows, automation, and self-service infrastructure that reduce cognitive load, streamline onboarding, and eliminate common sources of engineering friction. • Leverage LLMs and AI agents to automate platform operations, incident response, documentation, engineering support, and developer workflows. • Partner closely with engineering teams to identify platform gaps, improve reliability, and build scalable infrastructure that enables product teams to focus on delivering customer value. • Resourceful engineers who thrive in high-agency, fast-moving environments. • Experience building platform engineering, developer infrastructure, DevEx, SRE, or internal tooling. • You've been an early engineering hire, founder, or have built and shipped meaningful side projects from scratch. • Strong systems thinking with a passion for improving engineering productivity through thoughtful tooling and automation. • Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, and agentic workflows to solve real engineering problems. • Comfortable working across infrastructure, backend systems, and developer tooling. • Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, NestJS, React, Python • Data & Infrastructure: Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Airbyte, Dagster • Cloud & Platform: AWS, Kubernetes, FluxCD
