Requirements
• Fraud prevention: Build real-time risk controls and decisioning systems for products such as ACH, debit cards, onramps, off-ramps, and other money movement experiences. • Scam and abuse detection: Develop signals, models, and product interventions that identify malicious wallets, transactions, applications, and user behavior. • Identity and compliance infrastructure: Build scalable KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and audit systems. • Data and intelligence: Create pipelines and tools that combine on-chain activity, product data, and third-party signals into actionable risk insights. • Product safety: Partner with product and engineering teams to design safeguards into new features from the beginning without compromising the user experience. • Operational tooling: Build internal tools that help Risk, Compliance, Support, and Security teams investigate incidents and take action efficiently. • Team building: Help establish the technical foundations and engineering culture for a new, high-impact function at Phantom. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience • 8+ years of full-time software engineering experience • Experience designing and operating reliable, data-intensive production systems • Strong product judgment and the ability to balance user experience, financial risk, and operational complexity • Ability to work across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations • Demonstrated interest in protecting users and building trustworthy financial products • Nice to have: Experience with fraud, risk, identity, KYC, AML, sanctions, payments, fintech, or blockchain systems • English language proficiency
