Requirements

• A strong technical background with 5+ years of experience in fullstack web development and production AI/ML systems • Deep expertise in AI/ML domains like NLP, computer vision, recommendation engines etc. • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, microservices • Proven ability to architect and lead end-to-end AI projects, including security best practices • Exceptional technical communication and knowledge sharing abilities • Track record of managing ambiguity and delivering innovative solutions • An appreciation for fast-paced startup environments and experience building foundational systems • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous technical challenges and drive them to resolution with cross-functional teams • Strong development skills in React, Python, and Node, or equivalent technologies with the ability to ramp up quickly

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex software systems to meet business requirements within the scope of work provided. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, designers, test engineers, operations staff, customer support representatives, etc., as required by project needs or organizational priorities. • Design, develop, and implement new features in existing systems to meet business requirements within the scope of work provided. • Troubleshoot software issues that arise during development or after deployment using a variety of tools including but not limited to debuggers, profilers, etc., as required by project needs or organizational priorities. • Write and maintain code in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java/Scala for backend systems) within the scope provided. • Participate actively in team meetings such as standups, retrospectives, demos, etc., to ensure effective communication among team members regarding project statuses or issues that may arise during development cycles and deployment processes. • Contribute code reviews on a regular basis for all new features developed by the engineering team within scope provided; provide feedback when necessary based upon best practices in coding standards as well as peer review guidelines established internally at PolicyMe, Inc.. • Document software systems using appropriate tools (e.g., Javadoc) and maintain documentation throughout development cycles to ensure that all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information regarding system functionality within scope provided. • Test new features developed by the engineering team for performance issues or bugs as required based on project needs, using appropriate tools (e.g., JUnit). Provide feedback when necessary and collaborate with test engineers in resolving any identified problems to ensure that all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information regarding system functionality within scope provided. • Monitor software systems for performance issues or bugs as required based on project needs, using appropriate tools (e.g., New Relic).
