Requirements
• Proven experience in a Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar role • Strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines across multiple data sources • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data technologies • Strong SQL skills for transforming, validating, and analysing data • Experience using Python (or similar) for automation and data processing • Experience working with Git and version control in team environments • Experience supporting reporting and business intelligence through well-structured datasets • Strong understanding of modern cloud data engineering practices • Ability to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset • Ability to work closely with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across cross-functional teams • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality • Strong sense of ownership and accountability • Degree in Computer Science, Data, or a related field • Microsoft, Azure, or data-related certifications • Experience with data quality frameworks, validation, and monitoring • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platforms • Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools • Familiarity with medallion architecture or metadata-driven pipeline design • Experience with real-time or near real-time data processing • Understanding of data governance and data platform best practices • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments • Passion for learning and staying up to date with modern data technologies
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and evolve data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, dataflows, lakehouses, and warehouses • Develop scalable and reusable data ingestion processes across multiple data sources, including APIs, databases, and third-party systems • Build and optimise data models that improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organisation • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective data solutions • Implement monitoring, validation, and alerting to ensure data reliability and trust • Deliver high-quality, analytics-ready datasets for reporting tools such as Power BI • Introduce and promote DevOps best practices, including version control, CI/CD, and structured release processes • Collaborate with engineering teams to align data solutions with wider system architecture and integrations • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring high availability and accuracy of data assets • Contribute to best practices, documentation, and standards across the data platform • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency through better use of data • Stay current with Microsoft Fabric and cloud data technologies, bringing new ideas and improvements
