Requirements
• BS or greater in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field • Demonstrated experience mentoring and driving team execution • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals • Experience with scripting (Python or similar) and version control (Git) • Extensive hands-on lab experience including use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and similar equipment • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with system-level thinking • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional technical efforts • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions. • This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. Responsibilities
• Lead a small team of electrical test engineers and technicians, setting direction, priorities, and expectations for execution • Set the technical vision and roadmap for electrical test infrastructure, aligning team priorities with broader hardware and product goals • Own and architect system-level validation in partnership with systems engineering across development phases, ensuring comprehensive coverage and efficient execution • Define and enforce best practices for test architecture, automation, data quality, and documentation to scale team effectiveness • Architect and guide the development of Python-based test infrastructure, automation frameworks, and lab test systems • Guide development of scalable lab test systems and fixtures (including test PCBAs, breakouts, and instrumentation interfaces) to increase velocity across programs • Partner with cross-functional leaders to influence product architecture for testability, observability, and long-term robustness • Ensure lab infrastructure, tools, and processes scale to support multiple concurrent programs and increasing system complexity • Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally to support builds and partners
